How a forum works
We're not all computer geeks so here's a very brief outline of how you do stuff.
Organization: So we currently have four categories(General, Essays, Tests, Get-A-Life) that each contain threads dealing with various stuff. An example of a thread is what you're in now, the "How a Forum works" thread, which will eventually be comprised of several more posts in the thread.
Posting: Let's say you wanted to reply with to what I'm writing now with, "STEVEN, FORUMS ARE REALLY STUPID, & I HATE MS.ZIPP." You could fulfill this right (guaranteed by the first amendment
) by pressing the shiny REPLY button. Don't click the NEW TOPIC button unless you wanna start a whole new separate thread about something else altogether. Once you press the REPLY button, you get an exhilarating text box, with formatting buttons above, and frightening smileys to the right. It's pretty simple from here: Type! Do whatever. Once you have drafted a powerful intellectual statement, press the PREVIEW button to proofread or the SEND Button to officially post your prose for everyone to see.
Profile:See how my thing on the left that has a dashing picture of me? You can achieve this too by clicking the PROFILE button. If you have a myspace, this should be pretty simple. Reveal your basic info by filling in the boxes, or upload a picture (called an avatar) of yourself.
That's enough to get you started. Post if you have any problems or random curiosities
