Overview of Study Sessions

Post  Steven on Sun Oct 26, 2008 12:15 pm

So in Academic Decathlon land, 9 people get together, read, and ask each other random questions. This is quite effective until either random conversation kills things, or someone arrives with Little Caesar's pizza.
I would like to mimic this type of format. I have bought alot of prep stuff for the AP Test, which includes practice tests, flashcards, and pretty little charts. I envision splitting into groups to work, read, and discuss stuff. Then everybody can come together and do the same thing as one big group.
Of course this equates to being snatched from your friends, so you shut up and actually do stuff. I know from personal experience, and if time is being wasted, I will go home. We're big kids who know how to control our behavior, right?

Please contribute your input

Maybe we could have three small groups, for each block. And, like you said, everyone would come together afterwards.

I don't know. Just an idea.

Sometimes the blocks and the people from the blocks are unbalanced, so we'll probably get uneven groups in this. Normally what we do in decathlon is group people that really know the stuff with people that know little to nothing about it.
